Sixth seed Jelena Jankovic was made to work hard before beating Alisa Kleybanova in the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. The Serb was broken only once, but still needed an hour and 42 minutes to close out a 6-4 6-4 victory. Jankovic will next play either eighth-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur or Spaniard Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Second seed Caroline Wozniacki and fifth seed Agnieszka Radwanska advanced to the last four on Wednesday.
