People Of Our World - talks with Bipasha Das

Tell us something about yourself
I am Bipasha Das, MSc in dietetics and community nutrition management, working presently at a Multispeciality hospital as onco- diet counselor.

What is your passion or dream job?
My passion is to work as healthcare professional and a social worker.

How did you find your passion?
Belonging to third world country by seeing too many people die by not getting proper treatment and food, made me passionate about being a healthcare professional.

Do you make money from your passion?
I made my passion my profession, so of course I do get paid for my work.

What does your typical day look like?
Typical day is simple, looking after family during the day time and leave for office to look after patients, and, giving a little time to myself to explore myself everyday.

Where do you get your inspirations?
When I go outside everyday from my house, on the streets of the city and also in our country, I see many children and people roaming around here and there, who are malnourished and leading a life without proper food and care, they inspire me doing something for them and work on it more and more.

How do you find time to do the things you enjoy most?
I enjoy photography and listening to music and I do manage myself to get in any of those two everyday for at least half an hour in between all my work.

Was your passion a part of your formal education?
Yes.

What was your worst job you had and what did you learn from it?
I do not consider any job as worst job. Everything in life comes our way for a reason and we learn from every experience.

Did you change careers to pursue your passion?
No, I pursued my passion as my career.

If you ever want to start again what would you do differently?
I will start as a world traveller and travel to all remote parts of the world.

To hone your creativity is there anything you do over and over and recommend others do as well?

It is very important to give little time to yourself everyday, to know and to explore yourself, and that helps you to nurture your creativity. If one practice this, one will definitely can reveal new things about oneself.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be and how would you go about it?
Inject proper good sense of humour in every human being, which will help people to stay healthy, and happy all over the world. I will try doing that when I meet a person one to one, as many I can do, I will , and will expect the rest will also do the same.

Who is your hero?
My hero is my father, he helped me become an independent person in every ways, he showed me the way to be brave and face anything and everything in the world by he being an example of that himself.

What is your favourite quote related to your passion?
An inspiring quote to me is “Commitment leads to action. Action brings your dream closer.” - Marcia Wieder

What do you consider to be your top three most important values?
3 principles values which makes me a stronger and better person each day-Be independent so that dependence doesn’t kill you. Be fearless to face anything, which comes your way. Be sensitive to feel the pain of others.

Any advice or words of encouragement for others who share your interests?
Don’t step back when it comes to pursue your dreams, run behind to achieve it. “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” – Swami Vivekananda
