Seven students of the school along with the school principal Prof. R.S. Bajwa and the school managing committee president Amarinder Singh Libra today visited Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Yashvir Mahajans' office to hand over the draft of Rs 51,000. The DC appreciated the school students and staff members for their noble gesture. The school principal Prof. Bajwa said that the cloudburst in Leh caused widespread destruction and the people of Ladakh need help, so they appealed to the students to donate money. Fatehgarh Sahib DC informed that the draft received from the school will be sent to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund at the earliest. The school managing committee president Amarinder Singh Libra said that the school is ready to contribute for every social cause.
Talking to this correspondent the school students Jaskaran Kaur (II standard), Rajvir Kaur (VII standard), Simratpal Singh Mann (VI standard), Jasleen Kaur Mann (III standard), Dhrub Nishan Singh (V standard), Anmol Singh Shahi and and Sukhmanjit Singh (VIII standard), who had come to hand over cheque to the DC said that they wholeheartedly donated money for the noble cause. They regularly received pocket money from their parents and they are now satisfied after making donation from their pocket money. They said it is our duty to help the needy people.
Fatehgarh Sahib SDM Gurpal Singh was also present on the occasion.
