A 68 year old woman was robbed near Fatehgarh Sahib SSP office.
According to information received, Gurcharan Kaur, a resident of village Chudpur of district Ludhiana had come to attend marriage of her nephew.
As per Gurcharan Kaur she alighted from a bus around 9.30 am and telephoned her nephew to pick her near Gurdwara Sheeshganj, where she was waiting for her. While she was waiting, a girl around 25 years of age, met her and asked her reason of waiting. When she told her that she had to visit village Dera Mir Mira, the girl told her that she was also visiting the same village. After sometime, a Maruti car stopped near them and the girl forced her to sit in the car. After some time, the car was stopped near Fatehgarh Sahib SSP office and three women entered in the car . After looting cash and gold ornaments from the woman, they dropped her on the road . She said the miscreants had looted two gold bangles of three tola, one gold chain of three tola, earnings of one tola and Rs 5,000 cash from her purse. When the woman’s nephew came to know about the incident, he informed the police. The woman’s close relative Paramjit Kaur informed that a racket has been active in the area. She said around 15 days ago when she was returning from Civil Hospital after getting medicine, she was looted in same manner and she lost her ear-rings. Sources said the police is yet to register the case.
